A Dream Years in the Making: Sister Friends Is Becoming an Animated Series

For over a decade, I have shared illustrations celebrating Black women, friendship, beauty, culture, ambition, and joy.

What started as a simple artistic project grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Les Noires Parisiennes became a global community.

Women from around the world saw themselves reflected in these illustrations. They recognized their dreams, their friendships, their journeys, and their stories.

Many of you have followed this adventure from the very beginning. You have purchased prints, books, journals, and artwork. You have shared my illustrations with your daughters, sisters, mothers, and friends. Most importantly, you have believed in this vision.

Today, I am incredibly excited to share the next chapter of that journey.

Les Noires Parisiennes/Sister Friends is being developed as an animated series.

This project has been a dream of mine for many years.

Growing up, I rarely saw Black women portrayed as the heroines of beautiful, inspiring, and uplifting animated stories. I wanted to create a world where Black women could be ambitious, creative, successful, loved, funny, vulnerable, adventurous, and unapologetically themselves.

A world where friendship matters.

A world where culture is celebrated.

A world where joy takes center stage.

That is the world of Les Noires Parisiennes/Sister Friends.

The animated series will follow a group of unforgettable women as they navigate friendship, love, careers, family, identity, and personal growth while embracing the richness of their cultures and experiences.

This is an ambitious project, and animation takes time. The development and production process may take several years, but we are committed to creating something truly special and worthy of the community that has supported Les Noires Parisiennes for so long.

We are currently building this project independently while exploring opportunities with production partners, studios, broadcasters, and streaming platforms that share our vision.

This is only the beginning.

In the coming months, I will be sharing more about the characters, the world, the creative process, and ways for our community to become part of this exciting adventure.
